One thing that most definitely does not change is my three things I do every.single.morning. These three things set up each day for me. Think of them as a framework. A framework that is so very needed on crazy days. It’s to the point now that if I do NOT do these vital three things, I’m a grumpy bitch. LOL. Then something changed: a secret. Once you learn this secret you will never wake up the same way again. The second your eyes open you will think the same three things- trust me.

I LOVE a good detail. You know this if you’ve been following along for a while.

Whether it’s a wax seal on an envelope or Bossanova music playing in the background, the right detail can really set the mood. In fact, details are a MUST you know.

SO as you know if you follow along on Instagram, Michael’s sister, Jordan, got married to Nico. & along with her maid of honor, Elena, I set-up some fun bachelorette goodies for her & all her friends.

We made the quickest video in the world for you to show the set-up because, let’s be honest here, we were drinking chilled wine by the pool. But just so you can kind of see how we set-up the situation, watch the video below & read on for some tips.

BEHIND THE SCENES BACHELORETTE PARTY:

I HAVEEEE to shoutout the candy, Sockerbit– this is my favorite candy company EVER. Their candy is handpicked by badass boss, Florence Baras. Sockerbit is an all-natural, Scandinavian candy store. THEIR SOUR SKULLS ARE NEXT LEVEL.

We wanted to lay out a board of candy for Jordan & her friends that was unique to Jordan’s style ( her bach was Peruvian-themed because Nico, her husband, is from Peru ) so we chose blue & red with pops of white to represent Peru. We laid out each piece of candy in the most OCD way ever- can you tell? Literally Mimi, Emily, Arielle, & I spent an hour making sure the candy was completely organized.

This candy is the best candy I have EVER had. If you’re in LA, you have to go to Sockerbit- you won’t be sorry. Make sure you pick up soooooo many sour skulls. Like OMG.

The rosé was Summer Water– heard of it? I’m sure you have. It’s a FAB rosé brand. AND DELICIOUS. Naturally, we made frosé. If you’re looking for a recipe, I got you. Check out this recipe. Summer Water is twist off which we love because we love a lazy girl hack. It’s VERY good over ice too. We decorated hot pink Barbie cups with Woo For Play stickers & of course all the girls got some coconut oil lube ; ). Pixy straws were happening too. They always add a nice touch.

The house was full of Suja Juice ( I’m kind of obsessed with their new lavender flavor ) & June Shine. Both of these brands are standouts. Suja just has so many incredible flavors & it’s so Instagrammy. It makes a perfect vodka mixer. Suja also has these probiotic shots that are ideal when you’re in need of a pick me up. Nice little hangover remedy, you know? And June Shine is wait for it, BOOZY KOMBUCHA !!! DO YOU DIE?! It’s Jordan’s favorite- she was adamant that we HAD to have it at her bachelorette party. Her wish was our command. Once I tried it, I totally got why she had to have it.

Harmless Harvest coconut water was for vodka too…LOL but also for hangovers. Their coconut water is literally the best when you’re hungover. Just put it over ice & you’re golden. And I feel like you’re lucky if you get a magical pink one. Their coconut water is the purest I have ever seen on the market.

The girls left with coconut oil lube AND Kopari gift sets. Kopari made the cutest little bundles for everyone. My favorite in the goodie bag was the lip gloss…but to be honest, I’m having a huge moment with their deodorant. More to come.

Boobie candles are by Standley Handmade Candles– they’re fun. Especially for a bachelorette party. Just add flowers, music, lemons for decor, balloons & you’re good to go. Like I said, it’s in the details !!

Remember that one time I made my whole family reshoot my wedding photos?

Who does that, you ask? Me. No shame here at all.

I was late to the wedding so the light wasn’t where I wanted it.

Plus if we’re being totally honest my vision was a black background & Cabo’s blue ocean & green grass just wasn’t cutting it.

So I did what I do best & set out to create the vision I had in mind- HA.

This included an annoying group text to my entire family. What do people hate more than having to get dressed up on a Thursday in wedding clothes to take pictures? Group texts. But I digress.

They’re both pretty bad.

SAVAGE.

Just can’t help myself.

ANYWAY! I should mention: YES, it IS a week-ish after my anniversary but this post has been on my to-do list because why not? I like to bring you guys along & feel like you got the experience of the wedding reshoot on Snapchat & IG Stories but not on the blog.

So here’s a post showcasing just how crazy I am!! TRUE COLORS ARE OUT. Michael, of course, complained the entire fucking time & then proceeded to post the pictures on Instagram because he loved them. Such a guy right. They complain & then they claim the image as their own. Like he was basically the creative on the shoot in his mind.

For those of you who asked, I wanted to do a quick breakdown a la Into The Gloss-style of the wedding day prep ( by the way, I have been meaning to do this post FOR A WHILE, so like I said since we just celebrated a year, I figured this was the ideal time to FINALLY post this- LOL? Always late ).

THE SKINNY CONFIDENTIAL’S PRE-WEDDING PREP GUIDE:

♡ | WELLNESS:

I cut back on carbs big time. Every morning I started with a green smoothie with lots of ginger, lemon, maca, & pearl powder. Obviously this included a lot of greens too. Protein was big on the agenda & lots of fiber like chia, hemp, & flax seeds.

I definitely detoxed too. I drank a lot of the TSC Detox Drink every morning & ate very, VERY clean. By the time my wedding rolled around, everything was pretty tight. I went easy on the alcohol too before the wedding which is why I legit blacked out the night before we got married. What can you do.

I also did a lot of cupping & acupuncture before I got married because it VERY MUCH helps with inflammation ( I especially love facial acupuncture ). Cupping is great for the lymphatic system ( remember my spider bite story? HA! ). I go to Taylor Taylor ( two last names, YES! ) in Hillcrest, CA. I had chiropractic visits here & there with Patrick too. For the record I would have gotten a colonic had I known more about them ( BTW, a post on THIS experience is coming soon ).

♡ | BODY

For my body I focused on a lot of yoga & Pilates. Since I wasn’t eating as much as I normally do, strength training had to happen only two days a week. I did the 27 minute TSC Bombshell Body Guide workouts with Kim Kelly, yoga 3 times a week, & Pilates once a week. Everyday I tried to sweat. I feel like you want to look fleeky for those photos, you know?

The yoga I did was elongating. I don’t like hot yoga. In fact, I find hot yoga very distracting. I like to flow- the reason yoga was such a theme before my wedding was because it keeps me grounded. A lot of clarity happened in yoga, pre-wedding. I highly recommend it.

♡ | FACE

BOTOX! This happened 2 weeks before I walked down the aisle. I did my forehead area. Two weeks before the wedding was just the right amount of time for the Botox to settle. Read more about Botox here.

THEN! Facials were very important. I went to Lindsay at Browtique to do oxygen facials. The oxygen is super good for your skin & really cleans out the pores when you mix it with extractions first.

My skin care routine was strict as shit. This meant washing my face twice a day. I used tons of oils like this one, a shit ton of moisturizer ( love this blueberry cream ), & OF COURSE a lot of facial massage. Skin care should be upped before a wedding in my opinion. Like gold intense sheet masks x 2304823048, you know?

+ Note: make sure you give your skin a week between the facial and the wedding. You don’t want to be broken out. Oh, & if you get a pimple- no fear, just read this post.

♡ | NAILS:

I went with Shellac. I did this pretty eggplant tone on both my nails & toes ( if we’re getting specific: Deborah Lippmann’s ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ ). The shape was VERY square & short. I kept it simple here because I wanted my skin & dress to be the stars of the show, not my nails.

I like Shellac for nails & toes on certain occasions. Occasions where you don’t want to worry about shit ( like your wedding ). There’s no chipping situation happening. Love that. I go to Tippy Toes in Hillcrest.

♡ | MAKEUP & HAIR:

MY OG TEAM, Kelsey Long & Shawn Knudsen came down for the wedding so they had me covered here. For wedding makeup, I wanted to look like myself! So we did a bold lash ( this one is my fave always ) & dewy skin. Nothing too crazy. For the hair, we left it down & tucked it behind my ears. I did this because of the veil by Eden Luxe Bridal. I wanted the veil to lay nicely on my head. Basically my hair was the opposite of Shirley Temple, it was more of an old Hollywood light wave.

♡ | BROWS:

Double tint FOR THE WIN. The second before I left for Cabo I asked Lindsay of Browtique for a natural brow shape with a double tint. Of course we did dermaplaning on my face too. This leaves your skin brighter, smoother, glowing, and more youthful while removing old, dead skin & peach fuzz. WIN/WIN. I recommend doing this step three days before a wedding or big event. Listen to her episode on TSC Podcast if you want a REAL, crazy breakdown.

♡ TAN:

Spray tan always. You can read about my spray tan tips here. But make sure if you’re blonde you check out the violet tone shades- they’re SO flattering on blondes. I sprayed three days before I got married so I wasn’t offensively tan. Also: make sure you use moisturizer before walking down the aisle. There’s nothing better than a glowy, light tan that’s NOT gonna get on your white dress!

If weddings aren’t your thing, this week probably won’t be your cup of tea.

Since I still have wedding content ( I know, I know I’ve procrastinated ), I’ve decided to share it all in one week. Since our one year anniversary was yesterday, I figured let’s just bang it all out this week & make it a thing. So ya! Say hello to wedding week. I’ll pepper in a beauty post & vlog ( yes a vlog! ) to mix it up. BUT primary this will be a lot of wedding content.

Next week though, we shall return to our normal beauty, health, wellness, diet, branding tips content. Sound good?

This post is also fitting because we spent our anniversary in Cabo to celebrate our engagement. Michael re-created our wedding with a dinner under the stars. It was very romantic & creative- in fact, his details killed me. He had everything down from the music on his mini speaker ( The Girl From Ipanema ) to the black calla lilies, to the colors, to the candles. Quite impressive. I’ll do a post on that later though.

So let’s talk about hangovers…well we did PART I of THE HANGOVER BRUNCH ( remember this post? ) & now it’s time for PART II.

After the brunch was over a bunch of people left ( sad, we wished they all stayed an extra day ) & a few of us headed to The Office.

Have you been?

If you haven’t been to The Office in Cabo you have to go. It’s iconic. The decor & food & waiters who pour shots down your throat are so festive. Anyway, go there next time you’re in Cabo. We continued the celebration & Michael & two of our friends ended up on a random stage dancing in sombreros. Long story.

So yes, the hangover brunch was needed & the ideal touch after the wedding.

If you’re planning your own hangover brunch ( this doesn’t just apply to weddings either- any brunch works ), here’s some tips.

The Skinny Confidential’s Brunch Tips:

♡ JUICES: I love having an array of juices always when I throw a brunch. One, because the colors are great for Instagrams- let’s be honest. And two, everyone loves a lavender mimosa. There’s nothing better really. Make sure you have garnishes like mint, berries, & pomegranate seeds too. For our hangover brunch we had herbs on hand everywhere. Herbs make a pretty cocktail. Add a pixy straw & you’re good to go.

♡ CANDLES, FLOWERS, & MUSIC: both of these details are key when planning a brunch. I like all different heights of candles. For music we went with Kygo here. The vibe was perfect for his music. Bossanova is fun too OR you could go classic & do like a Frank Sinatra. Regardless, always do music. There’s nothing worse than an event without good music.

♡ FOOD: since we hosted a hangover brunch, we knew we needed hangover food. That meant waffles, pancakes, eggs, strawberry butter, crepes, the works! We had a chef making fresh pancakes & you could kind of top it how you wanted to. The toppings were things like fruit, chocolate chips, sprinkles, nuts, whipped cream. Mix it up here! Toppings are so fun for guests to choose from. Think of it like an ice cream bar but it’s brunch!

♡ A BRUNCHY LOOK: when I picked out this outfit I wanted it to feel very Cabo. White, of course because we just got married! But two braids because it felt very vacation & some rose gold flip-flops. When you’re the host of your brunch- mix up your look. There’s no better time to play with your look than when you’re the host.

♡ PHOTOGRAPHER X NICE LIGHT: ok obviously these two things are not absolutely mandatory HOWEVER they’re amazing if you can. Ask a friend to take pictures of your brunch or hire a photographer ( if you’re doing the wedding thing ). The first thing I do when I throw any kind of party is check the light. Lighting is so important & makes a world of difference.

Ok those are my hangover brunch tips- if you haven’t had a hangover brunch, do it. IT IS A REAL BLAST. LMK if you guys have anything to add to the list!

You guys have heard Lauryn’s recap of her epic bachelorette party, but today I am gonna give you guys a behind the scenes look at planning the most epic bachelorette party ever.

Maid of Honors & bridesmaids… take notes!

SO, a handful of my close friends are either just engaged or soon to be engaged (something is def. in the air), & I am so stoked for the handful of weddings coming up. Once you are a full-grown adult, weddings are about as rowdy as you get in the year… so I fully embrace the season of wedding bells.

Which is kinda why this week is gonna be all about wedding vibes! I will be sharing some pretty bridesmaid’s dresses later this week & throughout the week on Insta-stories I will be sharing with you guys some on trend wedding dresses for the brides, wedding guest dresses, & some cool wedding inspo.

Today though, we’re talking all about the bachelorette party. Lets get specific on how to plan a bachelorette party, & how to ensure the bride is a happy camper the whole damn time.

You guys may remember Lauryn’s epic Bachelorette weekend from a while back. This extravaganza really brought out my inner party planner. Typically it’s not my forte, but if you know Lauryn, you know I had to up my party planning game.

Then, I kinda got the whole bachelorette planning bug. I just had a good time helping make the bride’s (elaborate) vision come to life & when your bride is super stoked on the turn out… that’s a good feeling.

Maid of Honor duties are stressful, but rewarding.

how to plan an instagram-worthy bachelorette getaway

i. gather inspo from the bride

If you’re the maid of honor or in charge of the bachelorette party planning, set up a coffee date with the bride-to-be & start jotting down her vision. Surprises are fun, but brides are under a lot of stress & want everything to be perfect… so to be safe, get their input. 

Have your bride start a Pinterest board of things she likes/doesn’t like/decor/table settings/games/etc. She probably already has one made since brides love a good Pinterest board, so get an invite on that one.

This will be your starting point to kinda narrow down exactly what the bride wants. A happy bride is the no.1 priority here.

ii. choosing the perfect bachelorette party location

If you’re looking for a getaway, find somewhere driving distance. It’s expensive for the guests as is, so throwing in a plane ticket on top of everything else can be a lot to ask. If you want friends to actually come, it’s a safer bet to plan something close by. 

Southern California girls- Palm Springs is ALWAYS a good idea. Wine tasting & spa weekends are also fun!

If you’ve got a big group, try to find an airBNB to rent. This will end up being the most cost effective way to house a bunch of girls… & it just makes things WAY more fun. Book at least 3 months in advance!

Also- when booking a place on airBNB check out their rules section! You don’t want to get stuck in a place that doesn’t let you play music past 10pm. Be sure to let the host know this is for a bachelorette party as well- not really something you should hide from your host.

iii. get extremely organized

once you have your location & the bride’s vision- time for spreadsheets.

I can’t stress this enough- CREATE A SPREADSHEET.

On our spreadsheet we had it divided into categories: food, drinks, decor, goody bags, house necessities, hangover kits, etc. 

Under each category I wrote out what we needed, the most affordable link to buy, & next to that a space for “name & amount” so we know who ended up paying for what. 

We also made a spreadsheet for the guests who RSVP’ed so we knew the final head count for food & drinks.  

This spreadsheet was sent to 5 of the bride’s closest friends who all pitched in initially to purchase everything that was needed. When a purchase was made, we’d check that off the list. It took a good 2 months to get through the list- but it was very efficient. 

iv. consider everyone’s budget

speaking of budget- you’ve got to really set one before you start planning. Calculate how much you ideally would expect each girl to pay, multiply that by the amount of girls going, & there you have a pretty solid idea for budget. 

You do need to be prepared for some of the attendees to say they can contribute, but not as much as being asked. This is tough, but also something to be respected; everyone’s budgets are different. You can either cut costs somewhere, or every girl can pay a tad more to cover her cost. Up to you- but try to make it work, for the bride’s sake!

Once all the girls pay up (thank you Venmo!), that money would then be divided by the bride’s friends who forked up the cash upfront. 

v. it’s all in the tasteful details

My favorite part of the planning process was easily the DETAILS.

You really don’t have to spend a fortune to have a chic bachelorette party, you just gotta put massive emphasis on the little details that make up the big picture.

OKAY- so first things first, the decor.

When I helped plan Lauryn’s bachelorette, we pretty much got everything from either Etsy or Amazon.

Etsy is a GREAT place to shop for bachelorette decor as they really do have EVERYTHING. We got the “same penis forever” sign, the pink flamingo cake topper, cute cactus drink stirrers, custom matchboxes & SO MUCH more from Etsy for a great price.

Amazon was where we went for the basics- disco ball cups, black plates & gold cutlery, cactus cups, unicorn pool floats, Vegas visors for all the girls, La Croix in bulk, huge ass white balloons, all of the supplies needed for the bachelorette goody bags & hangover kits (both a total MUST!), & just about everything else.

Now- let’s talk activities.

Ditch the stickers & pin the penis on the man games. Actually, no penises at all. 

Again, give the bride what she wants (if she wants penis straws, give her penis straws), but also remember… the whole concept of a bachelorette party is for the bride to spend quality time with her best girlfriends before tying the knot. It’s not really meant to be a last HOORAH… cause that’s kinda depressing. 

Instead plan activities like brunch, a dinner party at the airBNB, s’mores & wine, & throw in a tasteful/fun game. We kept the games to a bare minimum, but the one thing we did do was have all the guests bring the bride unwrapped lingerie & hung it on a clothes line. 

The bride had to go through each one & guess, based on her friends personalities, who got her what. 

It was short, sweet, fun, & the bride got a whole bunch of sexy lingerie.

TODAY is a wedding medley. We’re going to talk specifically about how to set up a bomb-ass wedding website AND then my girlfriend, Brenda Doyle ( who’s a wedding planner ) is going to share 10 tips for planning a wedding.

INFORMATION is key when it comes to planning a wedding.

Wanted leave you guys with a little wedding checklist so I enlisted my cousin’s wife ( & my girlfriend ), Brenda Doyle who happens to be an AMAZING San Diego wedding planner. She provided TSC brides with some tips to help create a clear path:

BRIDAL PARTY

IF you decide to have a bridal party, here is your opportunity to build your team. Each member is special and talented in their own way, use their personality to your advantage:

Example: Assign a bridesmaid with good music style to help research and select music choices. It sounds silly but I see so many couples caught up on miscellaneous songs.

BUDGET

During wedding planning time, everyone dreads the “budget” conversation. Let’s be real, money is a HUGE wedding topic. So my advice here is PRIORITIZE. What matters most on the list of vendors and details to you? In the time of wedding planning and being engaged you will probably go to other weddings.

Here is my tip: be a secret critic, take note of things that really matter to you and other things that didn’t seem like a huge hit for the crowd.

EAT & HYDRATE

Sounds obvious right? Soo many Brides forget to eat and hydrate on their wedding which can lead to a bride that is too drunk, low on blood sugar, tired and even worse a bride that wakes up with an awful hangover! Take care of yourself!

If you can’t remember to do this assign your maid of honor to this task!

INFORMATION

These days it is so easy to communicate with your wedding! The knot makes it’s so easy to organize all your details in one place on a very fun personalized wedding website.  These are soo important for wedding details.

On your website include details such as:

+ accommodation options

+ parking

+ dress code

+ weather expectation

+ registry

+ more

If this is too daunting ask your planner to help build your website! Include this website on your save the dates & invites ( it will help all of the last minute questions people will ask ).

PINTEREST

YES! Pinterest is the best, if you use it correctly! To use your Pinterest correctly you need to set boards up by inspiration category (dress, flowers,  photos, details etc). Organize your thoughts and keep it clean and clear. Add notes and delete old ideas when you have moved on. Share these boards with your planner so you are on the same page.

HIRE people you like

Chances are you will be working with these people for 1-2 years planning and dreaming up the big day. Make sure these are people you like talking to and who get your personality and style. Spending hours with people who irritate you won’t create anything magical.

EXPECTATIONS

Sure have them super high, it’s your day!  Just make sure you are very clear with your expectations so you don’t find yourself disappointed. This goes for vendors, family & bridal party.

READ YOUR CROWD

If your crowd doesn’t love drinking and dancing as much maybe you need to include alternative activities for people to enjoy. This varies from location to location, but a show or live music is a nice way to excite the audience. Who doesn’t love a good photo booth, lounge areas & fire pits with s’mores equipment.

YOUR WAY

Do things the way you want them. Throw out everything you have been told about a “traditional” wedding. This is the time to be yourself and celebrate your love and commitment in whichever way you choose. If you want to stray from the traditional formalities, then do it!

HIRE A PLANNER

Best money ever spent while getting married. These pros can save you money by reviewing your contracts and hiring the right people and services for you. They keep you on time not only at the wedding but during the entire process. They offer tips and advice to make the whole thing less stressful and essentially bring all of your wedding dreams to life without all of the stress and drama.  

Planners know all of the tools, people and tricks to get the job done so brides and grooms can enjoy their wedding.

& just like that, we’re at THE HANGOVER BRUNCH.

I mean not really, it took us a while to get here but hey, I had to be thorough.

So THE HANGOVER BRUNCH was very much necessary.

…Especially when you’ve stayed up until 3 AM the night ( morning? ) before.

Like times are tough the day after your wedding, you feel me?

I slowly dragged my ass out of bed & made fun of Michael for ten minutes about how his life is over, blah, blah. Drank some peppermint tea & then RALLIED.

LIKE RALLIED GUYS.

I WAS TIRED AF butttt ya gotta do what you gotta do.

Of course Michael saved his pink shirt, glad-handing moment for when he made his entrance into the THE HANGOVER BRUNCH.

I feel like the wedding night is all about the bride & he wanted his bridezilla comeback the next day. When he walked into The One & Only Palmilla’s terrace restaurant everyone applauded & he loved every second. Truthfully I was very focused on his light pink shirt which was very TSC-esque ( right? ). Anyway, this was his time to shine. He basically almost put on tap shoes.

Kygo played in the background while everyone was served THE YUMMIEST, CALORIE-FILLED BREAKFAST FOOD.

Like I skipped the cake because of THE HANGOVER BRUNCH.

Remember in Charlie & The Chocolate Factory when the bunch got to see the factory? I wanted our guests to be surrounded by goodness & sugar & more champagne.

So everyone was surrounded by blueberry plush pancakes, warm maple syrup, chocolate croissants, espresso shots, strawberry/basil waffles, eggs, crispy bacon, pomegranate muffins, watermelon, & more chips & salsa ( <<< HAD TO ).

& of course, Suja Juice because I had to throw in a healthy twist. Lavender Lemon mimosas & Lemon Love spicy vodka sodas everywhere. Hair of the dog PLZ…with a side of ten chocolate croissants.

Skipped the cake, went for fatty/sugary breakfast. Festive.

For my look here I did white ( shocking ) with two braids. Easy & quick. I feel like my hair & makeup girls were so hungover that we did what we could. I loved that they were hungover.

I did a big lash, lip gloss, & a bunch of magic eye brightener because NO ONE needed to see those hungover bags under my eyes.

Flowers were from the night before- continuing with more drama. Arete Floral made it come together & Esoteric Events streamlined the process.

HUGE THANK YOU TO THE ONE & ONLY PALMILLA for putting up with us- you were AMAZING.

The crew was amazing but what did we loved most? Guests didn’t want to leave!

That’s what I wanted- people to WANT to be there.

Currently at a hole in the wall sushi restaurant ( my favorite kind of place ), enjoying some spicy veggie sushi with my sisters so I G2G butttt you guys have to enter the latest Snapchat giveaway- it’s SUCH A GOOD ONE. Think all my favorite products.

THE HANGOVER BRUNCH:

WHAT UP PART 4. That’s right it took four posts to break down the wedding.

And to be honest there’s still more- just want to make sure I squeeze everything in. Taking my time with the posts because I don’t want to overwhelm you. So where did we leave off?

Oh, that’s right- the outfit change.

I did an outfit change because the wedding dress needed to own its moment. And it didn’t need a whole night of dancing & getting ruined.

I wanted to leave the wedding dress as a moment in time- didn’t want to oversaturate it, you know?

So I worked closely with The Dress Theory Bridal Shop ( my shopping experience ) to design a two piece for the afterparty. Lace on top, skirt on the bottom. Bridal on top, kind of slutty on the bottom. You know just sticking with the contrast theme here.

Anyway Michael & I came in to the party after getting touched up & immediately danced to the song NOTHING ELSE MATTERS by Metallica. If you haven’t heard of it, I highly recommend you download it- it’s one of our favorite songs.

The lyrics are beautiful.

The whole song Michael was DRUNK. Grabbing my butt the entire dance- BAHAHAH. Sorry Daddy. After the song was over?

It was time to PARTYYYYYY.

EVERYONE was dancing- like everyone. Again it was a small wedding so there weren’t any Debbie Downers which was ideal for the energy. Fabulous energy all around. The playlist was a medley…& everyone was buzzed up.

AND THEN…….

My friend, Jeff, pulled me aside & asked if I cared if he told everyone to jump in the pool.

“UM NO, PLEASE DO IT,” I said.

So my entire wedding party ended up in the pool, Dad & all. In their clothes.

Michael was swimming around in his suit like a fucking tadpole.

PRICELESS.

I got a Snapchat of it, which I’m very happy about:

I mean!!! Do you see my stepmom walking into the pool at the end?

Could die happy after this display.

It really was a moment in time that was magical…& so funny. I mean everyone was screaming & chanting & just being drunk. Michael being the star of the drunk parade. LOL.

After the drunken poolscapades we headed back to our hotel room & had a party until 5 AM because that’s what you do when you get married right?

Like we needed more tequila & champagne for sure.

People even ended up sleeping in our hotel room- I didn’t care because that’s what I wanted- FRIENDS, FAMILY, FUNNY, CHILL.

Besides we could pull out the coconut oil after everyone went home, HA.

You should also know that our wedding filters were so fun! I highly recommend doing flirty filters for weddings or events on Snapchat. I worked really closely with Kelcey Vossen who’s this incredible artist & totally got my vision. We literally had a specific filter for every day. She even drew my friends- like she looked at their Instagrams & drew my best friends for a filter. How fun is that?

You can’t go wrong with a filter- everyone LOVES them. Trust me.

Note: if you have an event filter designed make sure you submit them to Snapchat 5 days before ( NO hashtags are allowed on the designs too ).

ANYWAY! So ya, that was our wedding.

All in all besides my drunken bridezilla moment I was pretty chill?

Well kind of, Michael said I reminded him of Congo on the Friday before our wedding, so there’s that.

At least he knows I mean business.

OHHH ANDDD our wedding was featured on Green Wedding Shoes– I’ve been a huge fan of their wedding site forever ( they just get it, you know? ). They basically broke down the whole event AND included a pic from our wedding re-shoot that I forced my whole ( poor ) family to do. Cabo is highly recommended if you’re looking for a chill place to have a wedding. I am very happy with how it turned out.

( Michael: can we please go back to celebrate our wedding anniversary? AHEM. Cough, cough ).

Hey hey, more wedding!

We recapped PART I & PART II…so now PART III. Bear with me there’s a lot- & again, I don’t want to do 38723984732 gazillion posts, you know? Slow & steady is the theme here.

With that, I’ll get right to it.

After the ceremony was over, everyone went up onto a grassy area ( NO FEAR THOUGH, we had Solemates aka high heel protectors for our heels! ). Dean Martin was playing while everyone kind of mingled. We took a bunch of absurd group photos. Nothing serious for this group- everyone was trying to do the mannequin challenge but the Karma tequila was flowing sooooo it didn’t quite get there. HA.

Afterwards we had all the guests sit down at ONE, LONG table. Another tip: ditch the round tables if you have a small wedding. Reason being, one long table is so fun. It’s kind of medieval feeling. I choose all black for the wedding. No white. We did long black feathers, black huge plates, napkins, candles ( different heights, of course! ), black shot glasses, HUGE-ASS balloons covered in black tulle, gold silverware, & TONS of black callilies from Arete Florals.

Shoutout to Esoteric Events who really helped me bring my gothic vision to life. I worked closely with Kristen to create a table that was completely ours. Kristin really listened to me & was VERY organized. I needed strict management here. And staying off Pinterest was key for me. I didn’t want to be swayed.

And of course to Del Cabo Event Design ( << rentals! ), One & Only Palmilla ( << venue! ), & Arete Florals  ( << florals! ).

The second the guests sat down they were greeted with a letter:

We stuck with the theme of our wedding invitations for the guest’s letter. All designed by my FAV, Bliss & Bone.

While the guests read their letter we started more speeches. Our friend, Westin, who is mine & Michael’s best friend started. Westin GETS SO NERVOUS. Literally though guys, he wouldn’t eat for like two days before his speech. He was sweating & freaking out. His speech was incredible though. So thoughtful. Westin has known us both since we were 12 years old. Both me & Michael have a special relationship with him. At first he can be shy but once you get to know him, he’s the best friend ever!

After Westin’s speech, Mimi & Jordan spoke together. And then my dad, Michael’s dad, Michael’s mom, & my sister spoke. All of their speeches were quick, funny, & endearing.

Then it was time for more shots. HA. More Karma shots were passed around because I feel like everyone wanted to PARTY.

The food was a medley. Nothing too fancy though. We kept it very casual. No filets. No halibut. No pork chop. Drinks were shots…margaritas & champagne ( HANGOVER CENTRAL ).

I didn’t do a cake because I didn’t want to.

The day after the wedding was The Hangover Brunch so I felt like we could do waffles, pancakes, cornbread, etc. then. So ya, skip the whole cake dance thing. Our focus here was on the booze to be honest.

My dad was so cute. Basically my grandma & I had already picked out her Cabo looks. One of the looks was this teal kaftan ( CHIC RIGHT ). It was a beautiful beaded piece she choose all on her own. She was VERY adamant about this being her poolside moment. Really though, she couldn’t wait to rock it with her huge gold aviators & an absurdly wife-brimmed hat.

Anyway my dad brought it down to Cabo & then brought it to every single wedding event.

Michael & I sat in this huge black velvet chair ( it was like a love seat but not cheesy, one we could both sit at ) and over the chair my dad hung The Nanz’ teal kaftan.

I missed her so much the entire wedding.

OKKKKK AND THEN IT WAS TIME TO PARTY.

I went into my room with Michael ( who was WASTED, HAHAH ). When Michael drinks too much ( which is like never ) he gets this one erect hair that pops out of his perfectly gelled, man-scaped hair. And lemme tell ya, the one hair was VERY erect. The one hair was poppingggggg. Since I blacked out the night before, it was only fair he had his own diva moment.

The reason I went to my room is because I needed to do an outfit change. As fun as it is to stay in a wedding dress…it’s also not fun. I mean it was kind of cutting off my circulation, Rose from Titanic corset tightlacing-style.

The outfit change was more of a party moment. We’ll get to the outfit & the party in the next post.

So you’re aware we still need to discuss: the party, The Hangover Brunch, the wedding party ( long story ), & my evil, diabolic wedding re-shoot………I told you- it’s a lot. If you’re not a wedding person- SORRY. Just want to make sure I cover my bases here.

Lastly I have to say a huge thank you to Karma tequila. Because 1.) they’re my favorite tequila EVER— 100% agave, baby. And 2.) they literally got our friends & family buzzed for 4 days straight…also you should know their tequila makes a mean margarita. Trust me, I’ve had practice? ( A big tequila thank you Steve, Britney, & Devon !! ).

Michael is going to kill me if I don’t get off the computer, I’m clicking & clacking away while he is sleeping with his noise canceling headphones. Which, by the way, is the BEST investment EVER if you’re in a relationship. I JUST THROW HIS HEADPHONES OVER TO THEM & THEY WON’T BE ABLE TO HEAR ANYTHING.

Ok, going to make myself a piece of toast with avocado & chile flakes, lemon, & olive oil.
