how to shave your balls by the skinny confidential

Ok, lets talk grooming.

This post has been a long time coming. This blog post for every person who wants to send their significant other a subtle hint: SHAVE YOUR BALLS.

They all could use a subtle hint once in a while.

Our podcast producer, Taylor aka The Barenaked Cucumber, has perpetual razor burn. Like, there’s nothing worse than skin irritations, razor bumps & being uncomfortable down there. Taylor knows.

In today’s post we’re gonna talk about the best ways for men to shave their balls, along with some tips to avoid ingrown hairs & razor burn, plus the BEST shaver, razor & products to help your S/O get in tip-top shape down there.

Let’s get right into it…

Tips For Shaving Your Balls:

♡ use the right tools

A while ago my friend Josh introduced me to a company called Manscaped. Josh was such a fan of their mission to help men get their junk looking nice & clean in a very approachable way.

So off I went to the website & I picked out my favorites for Michael & our producer Taylor, aka The Barenaked Cucumber. Taylor has perpetual razor burn. Like, there’s nothing worse than skin irritations, razor bumps & being uncomfortable down there. Taylor knows. LOL.

Michael swears by these products ( we’re about to get specific ) & let me just say things are looking great for him.

According to Taylor, after using Manscaped products his balls are alright now.

So, introducing The Lawn Mower 4.0. YES you need a good razor to work with the thick hair down there.

This trimmer has a ceramic blade that you can adjust with 4 different guards.  & it even comes with an LED spotlight that you can turn on & off so you can really get in there & see what you’re doing if you need to.

The battery lasts for 90 minutes & the whole set up comes with a wireless charging system.

Ready for the best part?

It’s waterproof! So your man can shave right in the shower & avoid getting pubes all over you bathroom floor. Like, no thanks.

There’s nothing worse than stepping out of the shower on to gross hairs all over your bathmat. Just did a whole post on the best non-bathmat bathmat ever. More here if you’re interested.

Anyway, let’s get back on track…

It’s important to note that this trimmer doesn’t only have to be used on balls. It can be used on a back, on a chest, wherever there’s unwanted hair really. It’s $89.99 & is such good quality, guys. I’m telling you- any man in your life will love this.

There’s another thing from Manscaped that is absolutely necessary. It’s the Ultra Smooth Package.

This is a little kit that is so good if your man is on the go. Imagine you go on a tropical vacation- you plan on lots of sex, drinks on the beach, swimming in the pool, BUT your man forgets his trimmer, has to use a nasty hotel razor then winds up with red bumps & razor burn everywhere. UGH.

The Ultra Smooth Package comes with:

Crop exfoliant – this helps soothe the skin & can help reduce ingrown hairs. It’s vegan, cruelty-free & sulfate-free which is a huge plus.

Crop gel – this is a shaving gel especially for the balls. It’s filled essential oils & smells just like a spa. It’s also vegan, cruelty-free & sulfate-free.

Crop razor – has 3 precision blades with a lubricating strip & flexible head so you can all the areas. It also comes with 6 replacement blades which is just so efficient.

Oh, & it comes in a cute travel case too. This is such a steal for $39.99 in my opinion. And as I said, Manscaped extended the podcast code to the blog so follow this link manscaped.com/skinny & 20% will automatically be applied at checkout.

Literally, the best Father’s day gift. Ok ok, I know it might be weird to give this to your dad for Father’s day BUT…don’t you always read weird stuff on this blog? Obviously you can give it to your BF, baby daddy, husband, too.

If you don’t want to give this to anyone, just send the guy who needs a hint this blog post. LOL. A little wink wink, nudge nudge never hurt a flea.

♡ soften the hair follicles with hot water

Huge fan of really softening the skin with hot water before shaving. I take a freezing cold shower in the morning, which if you haven’t tried you have to. It’s so rejuvinating, especially have doing Wim Hof’s breathwork.

At night, I love to wind down with a hot shower. The salt rock lamp is on, a candle is lit, maybe a sprig of eucalyptus is hanging in the shower ( this is the best tip to make you feel like you’re at a spa & have the most amazing shower experience ).

Anyway, having a hot shower for at least 2 minutes before shaving will open up the pores, make the hair stand straight & give you the best chance at fighting razor burn & ingrown hairs.

Lots of guys I’ve talked to say they like to shave their face with cold water, but it’s the opposite when it comes to shaving their balls. I get it. LOL.

As far as shaving direction…I tend to shave up because I feel like you get a closer shave that way. Some people say to go down though to avoid ingrowns. What direction do you shave?

♡ soothe your skin after shaving

So many people ( ahem, Taylor ) just shave & walk away. You need to take care of your skin after shaving it.

Grapeseed oil is great for this, but if you’re a guy you gotta check out Manscaped Ball Toner & Reviver. It has aloe vera & witch hazel ( just the best toner ) in it so it really calms & soothes the skin after a shave. It’s also vegan, cruelty-free, dye-free & paraben-free.

So there you have it- a little Father’s day gift idea, or ‘just because’ gift idea for the man in your life. & if you’re a woman looking for a post more toward vaginas, I got you covered. Check out this post on razor burn.

Happy shaving.
