Supplements You Should Always Travel With In Case You Get Sick

Your response to Dr. Daryl Gioffre’s latest podcast episode has been amazing. Thanks so much for tuning in.

Dr. Daryl always brings so much value to his episodes. He gives you simple, tangible advice that you can implement. This episode has so many good takeaways so you should go listen to the whole episode (and probably take notes):

+ how detoxing effectively is more important than nutrition.

+ how to heal your gut after taking antibiotics. More on that here and you get the whole product list here.

+ the top 3 supplements you should take if you’re overwhelmed or on a budget.

+ 2 totally free practices you can do right now to get you on a the road to better health.

+ and….. drumroll please…. what everyone is asking for the most….

The list of supplements he never leaves home without.

Dr. Daryl gave us his top recommendations of the supplements we should all be traveling with to avoid getting sick and to take in case we do get sick.

Supplements You Should Always Travel With In Case You Get Sick:

♡ Bioactive Silver Hydrosol

This is something that you can spray right up your nose, or into your mouth so it’s very easy for kids. It tastes like water and you can buy big refill bottles to fill up your little spritzer bottles.

This silver is antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and an immune modulator.  If you are sick at home with any sinus or respiratory issues (i.e. wet or dry cough), the nebulizer is a powerful hack to clear you out faster, but if you are traveling, the nasal spray or regular spray bottle works wonders too. They also make one for kids.

You can spray it right into your mouth (great for kids) and for the nasal pieces you can do a couple sprays at each nostril and lean back, llet it hold for 45 seconds.

Note: Be sure to get bioactive silver hydrosol, NOT colloidal silver as it’s a different type of molecule. He recommends Sovereign Silver or Argentyn 23 (this is a more potent parts per million).

♡ Acid-Kicking Minerals

If you get sick you’ll need to replenish all your minerals. They affect so many functions in our bodies so we need them to energize our cells and charge up our immune system again. Lauryn has been taking Acid Kicking Minerals for years and loves the strawberry kiwi or blood orange flavor. (Use code SKINNY for 20% off your first order.)

Supplements You Should Always Travel With In Case You Get Sick

♡ Probiotics

After or during sickness we need to nourish and strengthen our microbiome. Basically you want to get your healthy army of good guys in there to get rid of all the bad guys and help your good bacteria flourish. Lauryn and Michael love Just Thrive and you can use code SKINNY for 15% off.

♡ Activated Charcoal

Food poisoning can be quite common when we travel so Dr. Daryl recommends some kind of binder. This would be activated charcoal and he especially likes coconut charcoal in pill form. Normally he favors powders because they’re more bioavailable however, when we’re sick with food poisoning it’s hard to keep anything down, even a glass of water.

Direction for the activated charcoal when coming out both ends:  Take 1 capsule every other hour, max 4 a day. Do until vomiting and/or diarrhea stops. Be sure to use your Acid-Kicking Minerals during and after to replenish what your body lost.

♡ Nebulizer (if you can fit it)

Some nebulizers are bigger than others but we found a perfect one for travel. It takes double A batteries and is fairly small so if you have space to bring it along, we recommend you do.

♡ Test Your Gut With Dr. Daryl (with a special discount)

Dr. Daryl is also offering TSC readers a discounted lab package (domestic US only). You’ll save over $400 by clicking this link. Take advantage of this offer, even if you feel like you’re health is in check. As you can hear from Michael in the episode, his blood work came back great, but there was still something off. Dr. Daryl did his tests and they figured out he needed to seriously repair his gut. If you were to do this with your regular doctor it would probably cost upwards of $3k.

This package includes a G.I. Map, DNA stool sample kit plus the MRT food sensitivity kit with specific instructions when you sign up on how to do everything. It’s so easy! Once your results are in you’ll get a 45 minute call with Dr. Daryl to go over the findings. Think: leaky gut, inflammation, and stealth pathogens. Then you’ll have an option to work further with Dr. Daryl to fix things as needed.

There you have it. You can shop everything in one place right here and be sure to go listen to the full episode. It’s packed with other tips like how to reduce acid reflux, why you should eat protein first, and why we’re in a health CRISIS today.

Your ATX Guide for Shopping, Dining and FUN

When Lauryn and Michael moved to Austin what they noticed most was all the nature. They love to go for walks around their neighborhood or plan hikes with friends and finish with bone broth or a smoothie at SunLife.

They love living in Austin and have found some spots they love like Commodore Perry and Suerte, but Lauryn wanted to bring you a full on guide to Austin that includes shopping, bars, restaurants and places to visit. Today we have all the recommendations from Ellen, Lauryn’s personal assistant.

Ellen is from Austin so obviously knows what’s up when it comes to fun dive bars, the best food and unique fashion finds. Let’s get right into all her top recommendations when you come to visit Austin, Texas.

♡♡♡

Your ATX Guide for Shopping, Dining and FUN

Experience the outdoors:

+ Lady Bird Lake Trail

An amazing way to see the Austin skyline, and the best place for a hot girl walk.

+ Pease Park

Very lowkey, a beautiful park for a walk with your dog.

+ Mayfield Park

Wander through this serene park and watch live peacocks roam.

+ Barton Springs

Summers are brutal here in Texas, and if you don’t have a pool the best way to cool down is by jumping into Barton Springs.

Austin guide

Shopping:

+ Hearth and Soul

Perfect place to buy ANY gift. Tons of great home decor, kitchenware, glassware, candles, jewelry, clothes, anything you might need.

+ Moss

Luxury Consignment with everything from Prada to The Row. $$$, but well curated and I’ve scored some amazing, timeless pieces there.

+ Estilo

I basically call this store Austin’s “Intermix.” Trend driven, high quality, and located conveniently in Tarrytown to appeal to the not yet produced Real Housewives of Austin.

+ Uncommon Objects

My favorite store in Austin, PERIOD. The most incredible antique store filled with vintage pottery, glassware, chandeliers, furniture – the works! I can spend hours combing through this beautifully curated collection. Even if antiquing isn’t your thing, looking around this cozy little gem is such a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Bars:

+ Donn’s Depot

Classic Austin dive, great live music. The demographic is anywhere from 21 to 81. You never know what you’re going to get in there. Very fun, great for two stepping and cheap beer.

+ Rosie’s/Howards

Two for one, pick your vibe! Rosie’s is a super cute wine bar with a great selection. Perfect for date nights, girls night out, or just a sensible mid-week glass of wine and a snack. Rosie’s is connected to Howard’s, which is a cute cocktail bar where they have espresso martinis on tap.

+ Dive Bar

Not *really* a dive bar. Chic craft cocktails. Great place for an after dinner drink.

+ Beez Kneez

My boyfriend and I went on our first date here. It kind of feels like you’re having dinner in someone’s living room. Always bumpin’ good tunes, good vibes, and good drinks.

Your ATX Guide for Shopping, Dining and FUN

{Suerte by @hangryhobson}

+ C-Boys for Chicken Shit Bingo

YUP. It’s exactly what it sounds like. On Sunday afternoons pop over to C-Boys for a game of Chicken Shit Bingo. Every hour bar patrons draw a bingo number for $5. After drawing is closed, a chicken is thrown onto a giant bingo board and prodded with a pool stick. Whichever number the chicken shits on, that lucky barfly wins all the money. It’s a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends and to participate in some lighthearted gambling.

+ Cedar Tavern @ Eberly

This bar is so cool and has a very interesting history. The iconic Cedar bar with Tiffany’s stained glass was originally in the historic Cedar Tavern in NYC. When the Cedar Tavern closed, the bar was sold at auction and moved down to Austin, where it now lives in the back of Eberly. Every time I have drinks at the Cedar, I feel like I’ve stepped back in time.

+ Lala’s Little Nugget

Christmas all year round! Lala’s is a really fun Christmas themed bar, complete with festive cocktails, decorations and a countdown to Christmas behind the bar.

Restaurants:

+ Justine’s

French Brasserie on the East Side. Vinyl is spun behind the bar, and every menu item is delectable. A PERFECT date night spot. I love the cheese plate, the bolognese and the pork chop.

+ Matt’s El Rancho

CLASSIC and iconic TexMex. Everything on the menu is delicious, but the Bob Armstrong Queso Dip and a “Knockout” (Mexican Martini) are absolute musts.

+ Fonda San Miguel

Elevated Mexican that’s not totally TexMex. Beautiful and elegant space. My go-to’s are the massive margarita pitchers and the Duck Enchiladas.

+ J Carver’s

Bougie bougie steakhouse. Martinis and steaks are fabulous, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t have dreams about the Corn Brulee.

+ Ranch 616

Kitschy, fun, with a great patio and live music. Southern inspired fare like Divorced Quail, and Frog Legs.

+ Clark’s Oyster Bar

One of my favorite places for a weekend brunch. Extensive wine list, oysters, delicious crudo. Consistently good, and also great for dinner.

where to eat in Austin

{Commodore Perry by @hangryhobson}

+ Lin

The best soup dumplings in town. No notes.

+ Vespaio

My personal favorite for Italian in Austin. I love to sit at the bar. The beef carpaccio is a must, and the lasagne is INSANE. So so good.

+ Ola Maie

Upscale Southern food in an old house. Very chic yet homey vibes, with dishes like green chile cheddar grits, pork chops, and blue corn hushpuppies.

+ Austin Land & Cattle (ALC)

A NO FRILLS steakhouse. Much like Vespaio, I love to sit at the bar. Classic steak and potatoes kind of place. The service is always incredible, and while J Carver’s is “sexier”, ALC is my favorite place in town for a martini, escargot, and a good steak.

+ Wink

A hidden GEM. There’s a restaurant and a wine bar, and you guessed it… I love to sit in the wine bar. Affordable bottles, knowledgeable staff, and great food. You can go full on tasting menu, or order small plates a la carte. I love the smoked salmon pizza, and the foie gras burger.

+ Sushi Bar ATX

A reservation is somewhat difficult to score, but Sushi Bar ATX is one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve ever had. Located in a speakeasy on the East Side, the 17 course Omakase is unbelievable and feels like a private dinner party with only 10 seats at the sushi bar. Incredible.

♡♡♡

Be sure to save this post if you’re planning a trip to Austin this year. You’ll need more than a few days in Austin to hit all those hot spots. Some other places Lauryn loves are The Road for acupuncture and facials, Kaita for Flossing, Drybar, and Sharp Pilates.

Amalfi Coast Travel Guide

Consider this Part 2 of your Italian travel guide. As I said in the one for Lake Como, Michael is such a good planner. He researches and books reservations and just really plans out everything perfectly. Here we go with our favorite spots for food and drinks on the Amalfi Coast.

Amalfi Coast Travel Guide:

Da Paolino

Get the fish. It’s a whole show and display. The vibes are vibing and everyone’s there to have a ball. The lemon sorbet was immaculate with a mint tea. One cocktail then we switched to red wine because the food is the kind you want red wine with. GO IN THE HUGE DESSERT ROOM AND GET ALL THE LEMON DESSERTS. So good.

La Fontelina

An iconic spot. There are a million different spritz options. We tried every kind of spritz which was a fun game. You can’t go wrong with the lemon, buttery pasta. Zaza had homemade vanilla ice cream with a huge cookie, which ended with me needing to get an Affogato with the homemade vanilla ice cream. The view is stunning and reminds me of a real life Slim Aaron picture.

Dinner at Aurora

This is a perfect dinner spot. If you go in you will see every celebrity on the walls who loves this place. The pizza is 10/10. I got a La Piscine de Champagne that fit the mood of the place. Next door there’s super cute shopping- everything is like lemon themed which is fun. There’s this little kid’s shop next door that has very chic outfits for kids.

Lauryn in Italy

Hotel La Palma

Go for drinks and soak in the design, furniture and energy. This is an adult spot and ideal for an aperitif before dinner OR a night cap. Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc owners just opened this in Capri- they know their stuff.

Nightlclub Anema e Core

Michael insisted we go to this club- I am not a big clubber but this was cool. Great band and energy. Also the restaurant takes a picture of you and your friends and puts it on a bottle of champagne which is fun.

Conca Del Sogno

MY FAVORITE. The waiters are a HOOT. So funny and they’re constantly keeping things spicy. They dance and sing and bring out lemon sorbet (that they soak in vodka). It’s a party restaurant but also a leisurely lunch but also you could bring kids. It’s a rare breed of a restaurant and FUN. The decor is major.

Il San Pietro di Positano

HOLY SHIT- this place is INSANE. The food was my favorite. Get a bottle of Brunello and bring good friends- you will sit around the table and just tell stories for hours. THE PIZZA ! THE PASTA ! THE STEAK ! Go early for a cocktail on the terrace. They have this smoked Mezcal margarita situation that is TO DIE.

Lauryn red lady jacket

Pupetto Beach Club

A little beach spot with good pizza. Kind of crowded but I liked it for an early lunch. An outside restaurant so it was HOT. Bring a Squeeze Breeze LOL.

Il Riccio

Exclusive beach club with cute, little stairs to the beach. Food is 100%. View is idyllic. You can’t go wrong.

Le Sireneuse

Another good one. This restaurant has impeccable design, tablescapes, food, alcohol, entertainment. I was losing it the whole time because every detail was thought out. Go for cocktails early and sit and watch the sunset- very romantic. AND make sure the band comes to your table and plays Italian jazz.

Giardino Eden

You can swim here so bring your bathing suit. You take a boat to this restaurant so it’s a trek but worth it. THE BEST PRAWNS I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. There’s like a pesto sauce they have too that’s incredible. Fun for kids. OH and get an Affogato. YUM.

Lake Como Travel Guide

Leave it to Michael Bosstick (and most likely his assistant Katie) if you want the most iconic, concise travel guide for Italy – specifically Lake Como.

Lauryn recently posted the hot spots on her Instagram, but let’s get it all laid out here shall we?

Grab your best dinner jacket, bougie bag and buckle up…because you just might catch a glimpse of the Clooney’s at these little gems.

LAKE COMO TRAVEL GUIDE:

food & drinks:

Veranda at Villa d’Este

Order a skinny margarita and the spicy chili squid spaghetti. The Dover sole is also to die for. The only move for dessert is the ice cream that comes in a carved out lemon.

The Canova Bar

The prettiest setting on the lake and you must order the Affogado al Caffe. There’s also an olive and salty nut situation too. So be sure to ask for that.

The Grill

This bread is WORTH it so go for it. Warm and buttery. Yum. Also, this place has an incredible view.

Una Finestra Sul Lago

The most amazing pizza, maybe the best ever. Staff is so nice and charismatic.

La Terrazza

Order the Brunello or the lemony, dry white wine with cacio e pepe topped with caviar. The saffron and gold leaf risotto is so good too.

Il Crotto Dei Platani

Get a glass of champagne the moment you sit down to enhance your entire experience.

La Tirlindana

Kinda of a hole in the wall but incredible. Ordering the octopus and lemon ravioli is the only way to go here.

Il Giardino in Cernobbio

The most adorable, chic little courtyard restaurant in a hotel.

La Colombette

Mick Jagger’s favorite. In fact, it’s family owned and the truffle pasta and lamb chops are BEYOND.

PLAY & TO-DO:

♡ Tennis lessons at Villa d’Este, where Michael and Lauryn stayed. Doesn’t seem to be going too well for Michael.

♡ Boat tour to Il Crotto Dei Platani for lunch

♡ Sundeck bar of the hotel for swimming, pizza and à la piscine de Champagne.

Harry’s Bar for the best Bellinis

♡ Lauryn also got a stunning brown belt and yellow blouse at the cutest boutique at Villa d’Este.

♡ Enjoy the best croissant ever filled with warm apricot and a whole milk cappuccino at Pasticceria Poletti. (A fab rec from Claire Grieve.)

*For hotels Lauryn and Michael recommend Villa d’Este and Grand Tremezzo.

Just All The London Hot Spots With Mimi Bouchard

Mimi Bouchard is on the blog again today & this time she’s giving us all her recommendations for London, UK.

Recently when I was there I asked her for her hot spot list, & boy oh boy did she deliver. Naturally, I asked her to come on the blog to share it with you guys too.

Initially I met Mimi on Instagram & really loved her energy & hustle. She is focussed & I think she has a lot to offer in the space right now when it comes to wellness, meditation & living a peaceful life.

She’s beautiful, approachable & you may have seen her in the UK reality show Made In Chelsea. Or heard her on The Skinny Confidential HIM & HER  podcast. Mimi also has an app called Superhuman that I use all the time. I LOVE this app – Mimi has the most soothing voice.

In this post she’s sharing where to stay, what to do & the restaurants you have to try. Bookmark this post because it’s such a good resource if you’re going to London soon.

On that note, let’s welcome Mimi back to the blog.

Just All The London Hot Spots With Mimi Bouchard

♡♡♡

If you know me, you know that I’m a personal development junkie & I love romanticizing every moment of life. Although I now live in The Bahamas, I lived in London for 5 years. When Lauryn was in London a few months ago, she asked me to send her a recommendation list of all my fave spots in the city. From the best restaurants to fun non-drinking focused activities, here’s my list of to-do’s when you visit London, UK!

London Hot Spots With Mimi Bouchard

London Hot Spots With Mimi Bouchard

♡♡♡

Like I said, the Superhuman app is a go-to for me. My favorite is the Legs Up Meditation. Where you put your feet up the wall to drain fluid or inflammation in the ankles. Plus, it just totally settles your nervous system. If you want to get started with meditation her app is the perfect tool to have in your toolbox. I’m obsessed.

How To Avoid a Hangover In Cabo

Hey hey hello.

This post is all about hangover tips while on vacation. I posted an Instagram of all the things that helped me beat a hangover when I was in Cabo, so I wanted to post it on the blog so you guys always have a resource to refer back to.

These are the hangover tips of your dreams. Things that you can easily streamline into your life, or your vacation.

When we went to Cabo I told myself to let loose & have a little fun. That’s exactly what I did. But I also wanted to make sure I was on top of the hangover situation so I didn’t spend the whole vacation feeling sluggish.

I can honestly tell you that by following these tips, I was only kind of hungover once. ONCE !! I mean, thank god for the HOT MESS ICE ROLLER.

How To Avoid a Hangover:

♡ Gangster Chic electrolytes

Ingrid, the founder of the Gangster Chic brand, is one of my best friends & such a superstar for creating this PURE product.

H20nulin contains sodium, calcium, magnesium & potassium, and it’s delivered straight to the bloodstream. I like to put it in my morning tea or spa water to replenish all the minerals in my body.

It helps so much with hydration so you don’t have to drown yourself in 5 liters of water. Such a vacation must-have.

♡ Dry Farm Wines

I’ve tried so many different wines from all over the world, & I feel like I’ve finally figured it out: a lot of companies add shit to their wine. This means additives, aromas, colors, flavor alterations, sulfites & SUGAR. Yes. added. sugar. in. your. wine. So it’s no surprise that after two glasses you wake up with a headache because it’s basically like you had two Snickers bars. It’s disgusting that we buy a bottle of wine from Italy & think there’s no sugar added when there’s actually up to 40 grams.

Anyways, as you know, I recently had my friend Katie of The Wellness Mama on TSC podcast & she told me all about this company called Dry Farm Wines. The reason I was IMMEDIATELY interested is because they deliver it right to your door monthly – you know I love a delivery. Also, you can guarantee their wines:

+ are natural, sustainable & biodynamic.

+ are farmed & made using traditional wine making practices.

+ have no chemical additives for aroma, color, flavor or texture enhancement.

+ no or minimal filtering/fining.

+ have no or minimal addition of SO2 (sulfites).

+ have no commercial yeast for flavor alteration.

+ use minimal intervention in the vinification and aging.

To take it a step further I researched & learned about how specific they are about choosing their wines & they only procure authentic, natural wines.

THEN I TOOK IT EVEN FURTHER…. & got on the phone with the owners. They educated me about their wine, it’s low alcohol percentage & why there’s so much sugar & sulfites added to other wines. I told them that I love red wines from Italy, love rosé, & so they sent me some wine to try. They just get it.

How To Avoid a Hangover while on vacation Dry Farm Wines review

It was time to put it to the test- always wanna human guinea pig myself for you guys. I had TWO HEAPING GLASSES of a Tuscan red, ate how I normally ate & went to bed.

The next morning, nothing. Not even a speck of a headache. I didn’t even increase my water intake. So I decided to have my sister Mimi & best friend Westin try it ( don’t mean to brag but Westin knows his shit when it comes to alcohol & Mimi loves her wine, so they were the perfect people to test it out ).

They both said….. NO HANGOVER.

Some more fun facts about Dry Farm Wines:

+ they use an independent certified enologist to test all wines so they can guarantee the wines are SUGAR FREE ( thank the lord ).

+ they ensure every wine meets strict standards of health & purity. (We don’t want a bunch of shit in our wine that doesn’t need to be there.)

+ they work with small family farmers to offer wine that’s grown. And made the way nature intended.

+ they support small, organic, natural wine growers with fair trade pricing.

+ they verify a lower alcohol content & sulfites.

Totally worth it to pack a few bottles of Dry Farm Wine in your suitcase.

Dry Farm Wines drinks review

♡ mindful drinks

When you’re at the beach bar as for a shot of tequila with Pellegrino & ask for some lime & lemon juice. This keeps things skinny with NO SUGAR. Sugar is such a huge culprit of hangovers ( as we just talked about above ).

Some other favorite drinks of mine are Drink Bev cans, this boozy kombucha & Ashland Hard Seltzer ( get the watermelon one ).

♡ Pique tea

This matcha or ginger digestive tea is the BEST tea on the market. They don’t use tea bags ( which are usually full of shit, toxins & nasty bullshit ) so you can just open the little packet & pour your tea into ice water or hot water.

It’s super high quality & helps so much with a hangover. Pique tea goes through a triple toxin screening for pesticides, heavy metals & mold.

Good news: you can use code SKINNY for 20% off. Get the matcha & ginger digestions. Trust me.

♡ No Days Wasted supplement

This is a herbal supplement I always take after my first drink. It’s full of antioxidants & minerals so it hydrates & replenishes the body.

Other helpful tips:

+ ice roll the fuck out of your face ( you’ll depuff & debloat in no time )

+ IV therapy ( Mercy at Drip Hydration in Austin is amazing )

+ Wim Hof breathwork & a freezing cold shower ( more here )

+ sleep

+ workout ( Kim Kelly always kicks my ass )

And if none of this works, just a fucking hair of the dog & call it a day.

Sometimes a spicy bloody Mary is just what the doctor ordered.

What are some of your best hangover tips, especially when on vacay?

ACCESSORIES !!

You know I couldn’t leave you hanging with just outfits. I had to get super micro on the accessories I brought.

The world is opening up again & maybe a vacation is in your near future? In this post we’re going to go over the best things to bring on holiday. Think: a vibrator, a multi-purpose facial oil, the cutest jewelry & the best sunglasses.

With that, lets get into some of my must-have Cabo vacation accessories that work for almost any destination.

What To Take To Cabo: Accessories

Cabo Accessories:

♡ scrunchies

These scrunchies are just PERFECT. They’re worth every single penny. I got one in pink & one in lilac, they look so cute on your wrist, in your hair, or in your baby’s hair. I put Zaza’s hair in a top-knot with one of these & it was just the cutest.

For fun you could pair it with a matching Hunza G bathing suit. The colors & crinkle fabric are too good.

♡ vintage hat

This vintage Gucci hat is from @lesbijouxvintage. She reached out to me on Instagram, & YOU GUYS, she has the best vintage pieces. Go to her Instagram to stalk her & see what she’s all about.

This had kept my face out of the sun & I wore it almost the entire trip. You may have seen how psycho I am with my face on vacation, ahem, full pink face mask. It’s just so fitting for the launch of my book, Get The Fuck Out Of The Sun, to have a cute vintage hat AND a full on balaclava. It’s so extra, but so necessary if you want to keep your face out of the sun.

What To Take To Cabo: AccessoriesWhat To Take To Cabo: Accessories

♡ classic sunglasses

As I mentioned in the Cabo outfits post, I wore these Electric Women’s Crasher sunglasses the whole time. The matte black Quay After Hours ones are a favorite too, but I found out these ones are polarized so I became obsessed.

They’re black, classic, flattering to the face, protect the eyes & I’ll probably have them forever. Thank you to my friend Tori for gifting them to me at Erica’s bachelorette party. I’m never looking back.

♡ an ice roller

THE SKINNY CONFIDENTIAL HOT MESS ICE ROLLER totally saved my ass. Every. Single. Day.

Even Michael was using it. I took it to the lounge area when we were relaxing ( I watched Siesta Key ) & it stayed cold for so long. When I needed to cool it off a bit more I threw it into our wine’s ice bucket for a few minutes. LOL. Gotta do what you gotta do.

This is such a great accessory to take on vacation because salty food, warmer temperatures & alcohol are the perfect recipe for a puffy, bloated face. The HOT MESS ice roller will cool you down, contour the fuck out of your face & get rid of puffiness & bloat.

Cabo Accessories to bring vacation essentials 2021

♡ Avène eau Thermale

This is so major for a hot vacation. A The Skinny Confidential reader named Nadia actually brought this over to us when we were having lunch. She said that everyone swears by it. It’s this spring water mist that is so refreshing.

It’s soothing, calming & good for people with sensitive skin. It also provides antioxidant protection. Win win.

♡ Woo vibrator

The Woo vibrator is the best one I’ve ever owned. The best part of bringing this one on vacation with you is the travel case. It’s discrete, sleek & looks so nice sitting on your nightstand. Not only that, the actual vibrator is rose gold & white & specifically designed for the female body.

And to keep things super spicy, bring along some coconut oil lube. Sex is just better with lube. Woo’s coconut oil lube tastes like a vanilla cupcake, has no nasties, keeps you & partner’s pH balance in check, is made of all organic ingredients, is moisturizing & is non-sticky. You can even use it as a massage oil. Meow.

You guys can use code HIMANDHER for 20% off too. So while you’re at it, pick up some freshies too.

The Skinny Confidential ice roller skincare for vacation woo vibrator Get The Fuck Out Of The Sun book

♡ cute jewelry

Here, I’ve compiled some of my favorite jewelry brands lately. These were all so perfect for vacation & I love them for everyday wear too.

+ @electricpicks – love love love the necklaces

+ @thesiskiss – wore one of the necklaces that says BOSS on it.

+ @setandstones – has some of the cutest stuff

+ @erinfaderjewelry – obsessed with the ear cuffs & this pendant necklace in gold of a woman’s body ( her tits are perky – LOL )

♡ facial oil

The Skinny Confidential ICE QUEEN face oil was such a staple on this trip. I used it to remove my makeup ( can’t do makeup wipes- they pull the face down ), & it’s so good for taking off your mascara.

The ICE QUEEN oil was also amazing to use after the sun ( not that I’m in it much ) because it’s filled with so many vitamins & antioxidants: pomegranate, blueberry & raspberry seed oil.

All in all, this oil made me feel like my skin was being replenished with necessary nutrients after being on an airplane, a bit of sun exposure, using different water to wash my face, & just being in a different climate.

♡ cute, classic handbag

My friend Anna gifted me this bag & it’s stunning. An investment for sure, but so worth it. It’s Chanel & it’s timeless.

It’s sturdy, holds my favorite Summer Fridays lip butter, a blue Bottega Veneta ID case, & a Bee Propolis shot ( literal liquid Adderall guys – use code SKINNY for 15% off your order at Beekeeper’s Naturals).

beach vacation essentials

♡ satin headscarf

I found this super affordable head scarf & I got it in lilac & marigold. The reason I love lilac lately is because it really pops the whites of the eyes & teeth.

Anyway, I would recommend getting both. These head scarves are so nice & feel good on the skin, too.

♡ fun nail polish

For my hands & feet I used DND Pinkie Promise gel polish. It was fun because it’s neon pink & matched with pretty much every outfit.

It’s always nice to add some extra pops of color when you go on vacation, especially when it’s somewhere like Cabo.   nail polish DND- pull that.

♡ portable charger

This charger is a ride or die item for me. It’s small, sleek & holds a charge for so long, plus it charges your devices quickly.

It has a USB port, a USB cable, a mini USB cable & can charge right into the wall socket. I never go anywhere with out this. Now having Zaza it’s so ideal for when I need her to chill out with some Disney movies – The Lion King is a fave lately.

♡ a good book

Get The Fuck Out Of The Sun was with me every second. You guys, this book is so packed with skin secrets of top-tier influencers, celebrities & well-known doctors. You are going to doggear & highlight the fuck out of it.

It’s perfect for vacation because it’s cheeky, fun, aesthetically pleasing & you can open it up to any page & learn a hot tip from people who know what they’re talking about. It’s almost like an easy ‘beach read’ but you’re gonna learn so much too.

If you want to know more about my new book launching TODAY ( EEK ! ) then you can read all about it here. And if you’ve pre-ordered already, THANK YOU!

beach accessories dog on a floral leash jewelry for beach vacation bubble gum lip smacker

♡ Elemis bag

A few months ago I did a collaboration with Elemis. It was this whole skincare kit that included all of my favorite Elemis products:

+ pro-collagen rose cleansing balm

+ pro-collagen rose facial mist

+ pro-collagenrose facial oil

+ cute, TSC stickers & a mirror

The whole kit is still available here, but my point is that the bag is SO USEFUL. It held my ice roller, Zaza’s apple snacks, my lip balm, perfume- everything I needed.

♡ Boone’s cute leash

This is such a moment. This leash is by Frenchie. It’s a small business, owned by friend Bridgette & she’s crushing it.

These leashes are the best because they’re designed with your dog’s comfort in mind, plus you can also buy these harnesses so you don’t choke out your dog’s trachea. Zaza loves to hold this & the florals are my favorite design.

There you have it, all the accessories I brought to Cabo.

Be sure to check out the Cabo outfits post where we break down the comfiest travel/arrival dress & the most flattering swimsuits.

Oh, & if you’re about to go on an airplane with a baby check out this post. I’m not an expert but wanted to share some things that work for us.

à la Piscine de Champagne

Let’s just start off with a little history on this amazing drink. I was first introduced to it by, you guessed it, Ingrid. She lives in Monaco & we were at this cute little restaurant called Petite Maison in Nice. Ingrid casually ordered ‘à la piscine de champagne.’ Immediately I had 100 questions.

A big goblet of champagne showed up, packed with ice cubes. As I was guzzling, Ingrid explained this is the chic way to drink slower. & while you’re drinking, you’re hydrating from the ice & staying cool in the heat.

I very much liked this idea because I’m someone who will down a flute of champagne in 5 seconds because it’s so easy to drink. But when it’s in a goblet with lots of ice, you tend to drink it slower. You don’t get buzzed a quickly.

No fear, this drink isn’t just for women, men enjoy it too. Michael loves to order Domaine Ott rosé or Veuve Clicquot in Ice Jacket & a bunch of ice & pours it into a white wine glass. In my opinion it’s something everyone needs to try. It’s very French, very chic & very bougie in a good way.

“For years, Bill Murray has enjoyed an unorthodox alcoholic drink: Champagne on ice. “The way I like to drink it is in a big pint glass with ice,” the actor once said. “I fill it with ice and I pour the Champagne in it, because Champagne can never be too cold.”

Of course, this goes against centuries of tradition and the advice of Champagne makers, who have long believed that the wine has a completeness and harmony that should be enjoyed neat. To dilute the flavors and aromas with ice was gauche.

But it turns out Mr. Murray was a trendsetter. Others are just now catching up. At events including Coachella, the tennis tournament in Indian Wells, Calif., and a party for the men’s wear label Orlebar Brown during the recent shows in New York, the attendees were, heretically, drinking Champagne on ice.

The driver of the trend, the French Champagne producer Moët Chandon also known simply as Moët.  Benoît Gouez, the company’s chef de cave, said his colleagues noticed Champagne sales slumped during the summer months, and blamed the drink’s formal tux-and-gown reputation.

Inspired by jet-setters in the south of France, who, like Mr. Murray, have long added ice to their Champagne (the drink is called a piscine — or pool), Mr. Gouez conceived Moët Ice Impérial, a Champagne designed specifically to be consumed over ice. Think of it as a looser, T-shirt-and-halter-top Champagne.

It has become more of a party drink,” Mr. Gouez said. “New generations are looking for more freedom, a more casual approach.” – via

YES, you’ll say it goes against traditions & advice of champagne makers who say ice has no place in champagne. But that’s neither here nor there. I’m here to tell you that this drink is on the pulse & all the trendsetters are drinking it. You can even find Olivia Palermo with a huge goblet of ice & champagne.

As the article already mentions, this drink is inspired by the jet-setters in the South of France because it’s so hot here. Sure you can reach for a frosé, but why not feel French & sip on a cocktail la piscine de Champagne.  Oh I almost forgot, la piscine means pool in French. Wink!

& like Bill Murray says: “You don’t want to crash. you want to keep that buzz, that bling, that smile.”

With love from Antibes,

x, lauryn
